Didactics as the art of teaching and learning

Learning requires not only clear aims and structure, but also attention and commitment. The “art” of teaching therefore involves asking and answering various questions and designing suitable teaching and learning routes: What do we say and do in order to encourage learners to communicate and get into action? And how do we this so that learning can actually take place and go on? What is important to say, and what is saying too much? In which ways can learners apply what they have learned? What will they be capable of doing after going through the learning process? How can we speak “in the language” of the target group and support them in their learning? How can we create a productive learning space within the given context and setting? What is my responsibility in teaching, and what is the learners’ responsibility? All these aspects guide our didactic actions. I will gladly support you in refining and advancing your didactic skills.

I design professional development, teaching, consulting, and coaching for individuals and groups based on research and for practical application, with a systemic view and international perspective. I have scientifically substantiated my enthusiasm for working in didactics throughout my formal education in the institutions listed under Expertise, broadening and expanding my expertise in my lines of work. Since 2010, I have been conducting didactic workshops in German and English at universities, colleges, graduate centers, and other institutions. Moreover, I have been teaching English in adult education since 2000. Expertise  aufgeführten Bildungsstationen wissenschaftlich fundiert. In meinen Arbeitsfeldern habe ich meine Expertise erweitert und vertieft.  Seit 2010  führe ich an Universitäten, Hochschulen, Graduierendenzentren und anderen Institutionen didaktische Workshops auf Deutsch und Englisch durch. Seit dem Jahr 2000 unterrichte zudem Englisch.

Whether you have been working in continuing education, schools, or vocational training for some time, or whether you are just getting started to teach, I will help you plan, accomplish, and evaluate teaching-learning processes in an aim-oriented and structured way. I’m also happy to provide feedback on your teaching and presentations. You may wish to become more aware of your role within your specific setting - I will gladly support you in this process via coaching elements, as well.
